As part of my birthday gift Michael treated me to this classic last week. I reminisced as I watched Ciaravino and Hedgepeth’s adaptation magically unfold on stage; my freshman year at TJHS I was chosen to co-direct Dickens’ story in my English class theatrical production. I was honored as it was my first official student directing gig, making it especially special. #HappyClosingDay to this stellar cast and crew! Yet another amazing production! 😘
There are nearly 200 vacancies in the SAPD. Amidst the controversy surrounding national police departments, I do strongly agree with the claim that our local PD needs our support. This personal standpoint comes from seeing their work firsthand and my recent peaked interest in the world of law enforcement and criminology. Today I picked up my shirts from SAPOA and was disheartened to see so much surplus gear. They encouraged me to share the word, so if you’d like to show your support they will be in the office until 5pm. Today is the last day.
I cannot express the gratitude I hold to my organization for sending me to further my career in the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I am beyond blessed to have had the privilege to earn my first certifications as a trainer, and to return home better able to prepare our awesome team in serving our population. My last day in SD was spent at CNM, enchanted by the view of the mountains and Pacific Ocean, emotional with the experiences brought by the week. I’m convinced my heart drowned somewhere in the tides; I’ll be back to reclaim it some day. (at Cabrillo National Monument)
